Being Mexican fashion designers has made us realize how influential Indigenous Cultures are to our society. Today’s fashion takes inspiration from their traditional clothing, but the industry doesn’t give them credit at all. Often they use their craft to commercialize it and exploit them, which upset us because they should be paid fairly and treated with respect. In some way, we all have the same roots. Why treat other humans differently?
We want to support them in some way, that is why we created this collection. All the earnings are donated to Cultural Survival.
Cultural Survival is a non-profit organization that works toward a future that respects and honors Indigenous Peoples’ inherent rights and dynamic cultures, deeply and richly interwoven in lands, languages, spiritual traditions, and artistic expression, rooted in self-determination and self-governance.
