For the essence analysis
Three face portraits: One smiling, one with a neutral face, and a side profile photo.
This will give us a closer look at your facial features, bone structure, and flesh for more accurate results. They have to be taken from a frontal angle.
*You can be wearing your usual makeup or no makeup at all.
Please consider:
- No hair around the face, we should be able to see your whole forehead, cheekbones, and chin.
- No glasses or any objects covering your face.
- No selfies as they can change the size of your features and lead to a wrong analysis.
- Your face must be looking to the front, avoid tilted heads, try to take one similar to an ID or passport.
- The wrong photo could lead to a wrong result.
We don’t accept selfies since they distort your facial features.
They make your nose bigger, your forehead longer, and change your face shape, among other things.
Take a look at my example… (Both pictures were taken on the same day and time)
Selfie (frontal camera)
Normal photo (back camera)
I took this photo and then cropped it. You can do this, and it will help you take a achieve a great facial portrait.
For the Seasonal Color analysis
We need the next list of pictures, to see your natural colors and how your features react to different colors and shades.
- Self-portrait in natural light with no makeup wearing white (no direct light or coming from above).
- A picture of your eye (where we can see the exact color).
- A close-up of your hair where we’re able to see it in detail.
- Self-portrait of you wearing a cool tone color (Blue is preferred).
- Self-portrait of you wearing a warm tone color (Yellow or orange are preferred).
- Self-portrait of you wearing a bright color (Pink or red are preferred).
- Self-portrait of you wearing a muted color (Pink or brown are preferred).
- Self-portrait of you wearing gold-tone jewelry. (optional)
- Self-portrait of you wearing silver-tone jewelry. (optional)
The best results always come from the best photos, so here are some recommendations to take the best photos:
- It’s best to take them indoors facing a window.
- Natural light: it could be from Midday light which is neutral or colorless, or 1-2 hours after sunrise, or 1-2 hours before sunset.
- The light should be coming from in front of you. Nothing too harsh.
- Take a look at the shadows on your face, they shouldn’t be very noticeable.
- No makeup.
- Clear face, nothing that blocks your features like bangs or glasses.
- If you can tie up your hair it is better.
- Check your camera settings before taking these, there shouldn’t be any filters or settings that may modify your true colors.
- Try different spots around your home to find the best lighting.
How to know if a color is Warm or Cool?
Cool
Cool colors lean into purple, blue, or green shades.
For example, the color yellow, if you see that it looks slightly greenish is most likely a cool tone.
Warm
Warm colors lean more into yellow, red, or orange shades.
Continuing the example of the yellow, if you see it looks closer to an orange shade, this is most likely warm.
Also, please answer the following questions:
- What is your natural eye color? Does it change with the sun or seasons?
- What is your natural hair color? Does it change in the sun or seasons?
- What is your natural skin tone? (In case you tan, try to define it as fair, light, olive, light-medium, medium, dark, deep, etc.)
- What colors make you feel your best? What colors are you wearing when you get more compliments?
As we can know this by looking at your pictures, sometimes we can’t tell if you dye your hair or if your eyes change color with seasons. It helps us get a more accurate result.
