You know you’re a Soft Dramatic. Now what?
It’s a journey, and sometimes we don’t even know where to begin. Also, let’s not forget our essences can also change our Kibbe lines and trying to blend it all together can be overwhelming. So, you’re probably wondering…
where is the right place to start? Basics –Simple as that-
There are 9 key items that will help you start building a wardrobe that actually works for you as a Soft Dramatic. These clothing pieces will look good on you, no matter what your essences are. In fact, depending on the color and fabric, you can apply your essences to them.
We went through each of the Soft Dramatic recommended garments and we chose the ones we believe every Soft Dramatic should have in their wardrobe. Items that won’t go with trends, but will stay here to be timeless. This way, you don’t have to try and discard and you can go straight to what works, so we’ve got you.
So, here’s the shopping list for the Soft Dramatics:
-This is where you begin-
tops
1. tank top
(off-the-shoulder or with a square neckline)
For the summer, the staple piece you need is this one. These types of necklines generate a longer and slimmer silhouette effect. Remember Soft Dramatics are all about elegance, so a tight top would look a bit too casual. (Although, this depends on your essences, and how you combine your clothes of course).

2. sleeveles V-neck top
Compared to a pure Dramatic, Soft Dramatics can wear similar statement pieces, but they have to be soft and lightweight instead of stiff and sharp. This type of neckline is ideal for your kibbe as it produces an elongated shape to your figure and stylizes your neck and face.

3. The lightweight cardigan
Wearing this as a cardigan or as a top is completely acceptable on Soft Dramatics. Just remember that as a Soft Dramatic, a V neckline will look better than a round or mock neckline.
You can wear it alone back to your favorite high-waisted pants or as an open-topper, making you feel elegant, yet relaxed.

4. wide leg high waisted pants
As a Soft Dramatic, remember you have vertical and added softness. Which means you need to look for long pants that have some kind of softness in them. The length should be below your ankles and it can even go all the way down almost touching the floor.

5. boot leg jeans
They also have to be straight and long. The straight lines must be noticeable in your legs. Long is key, but also consider the fit at the hip.
Mid-rise and high-rise will also be the best options for you as a Soft Dramatic.

6. A pair of Tailored high waisted Shorts
These shorts are perfect for both minimalist looks and something more elaborated, depending on your essence.
Plus they are the perfect way to stay cool and look stylish.

7. Lightweight skirt
This other item is perfect for you, just make sure that the fabric is not too rigid, and that it is slightly wrapping your hips, the rest of the skirt can have a loose silhouette.
Also the long length or even the hem are flattering for soft dramatics.

8. V-neck dress
This kind of dress can adapt to every essence blend and look good on your Soft Dramatic body shape.
If you get it on crepe fabric, it would be ideal for Dramatic or Classic essence. And ocusing on the waist will give you the silhouette you are looking for

9. lightweight sweater
This one has to be on the lightweight side. This is a totally adaptable cardigan, not too tight, but not extremely relaxed either. Any lightweight sweater works, it can be a turtleneck, or crewneck.
You can wear this piece buttoned up as a wear-alone or layered as a separate back to a high-waisted pant or skirt proportion.

Extra Recommendations:
♡Have one in two neutrals.
♡Only buy what you need.
♡Skip those that you don’t like.
♡Better to have 10 identical tops in different colors that you will wear, than each one of these and not wearing most of them.
Now you know the 9 basics every Soft Dramatic needs. Of course, feel free to start adding your essences to them. Try with colors, prints, or just add accessories.

This is a incredible list to start. The pieces I already have are the lightweight sweater, sleeveless V-neck, bootleg jeans, high waisted wide leg jeans, and lightweight skirt. Against my better judgement I spent the last few years being trend hungry. I got rid of my best fitting pieces because I saw other women wearing clothing that were wildly popular and I wanted to look like them instead of myself. But wearing those clothes didn’t help me be the confident woman I am. This last year was working on building a closet of items in my seasonal color pallet. But these last few months I have been really focused on my body ID and essence. I’m so grateful that because of your website I have been able to source, second-hand, 5 of the 9 key pieces. Thank you for making it your goal to put out quality content, making it accessible, and championing the cause of sustainability.

Sorry but anything that doesn’t include highlighting the waist will make SDs look boxy. I disagree with half of these recommendations, as an SD myself. You’ve mixed up FN and SD here.

All of them are high rise for waist definition and obviously some of the tops that are not tight on the waits area have to be tucked for definition. It is not only about the garments, but the way you wear them.
