The Kibbe Body Type System is a body type system created by David Kibbe that focuses in 5 categories that are a balance between yin and yang features (soft and sharp). The 5 categories are: Dramatic, Natural, Classic, Gamine, and Romantic.
What is the difference between the Kibbe System and the traditional body shape system (hourglass, rectangle, pear, inverted triangle, and apple shape)?
The Kibbe System is all about finding what makes your body look good, instead of trying to achieve an “ideal” silhouette.
If you want to find your Kibbe, you’re in the rigth place as you won’t find a more accurate quiz than this one.
How to achieve successful results with our quiz:
*It’s important that you follow the instructions*
- Take a full body picture. Make sure you take it from your chest level to make it more accurate.
- You can work with your picture, but for better results, we recommend you either print it and copy the contour of your body on a blank page or digitally trace it.
This way you’ll be able to compare your shape with the illustrations in a more accurate way.
Why with illustrations instead of pictures?
You might think this makes it tricky, but in reality, it will be more real as you won’t get confused by the shadows and other body variations.
It should look something like this:

A quick tip for even better results:
Every body shape is beautiful and there is not an ideal. So, be honest with the way you look and make sure your answers are honest and based on how you look, not how you would like to look.

You can be tall, but people usually think you’re shorter. As well, you can be short and people perceive you as someone taller. In the example below, you can see both are the size height, however one looks taller than the other.
A) LONG: I look taller than I am.
B) MODERATELY LONG: I look slightly taller.
C) MODERATE: I look my height.
D) SMALL: I look slightly shorter.
E) PETITE: I look very small.

B) Large and Broad

Part 2: BODY FLESH
5. What is the shape of your body?
A. Long and Straight, even when gaining weight. (not very fleshy)
B. Broad with muscular tendencies.
C. Moderate and Symmetrical
D. Soft Hourglass
E. Very Defined Hourglass
6. What is the shape of your chest/bust?
A. Small and can look flat (upper chest is flat) (this doesn’t necessarily mean that your bust is flat, it just means that your chest is less fleshy).
B. Small, but wide and broad (fleshier CHEST but BUST is still small)
C. Moderate and proportionate to your waist and hips (smaller waist and bust/chest same wide in hips)
D. Full and fairly round (you have cleavage) bust is more prominent than your waist
E. Very full and round (Even if you’re thin you have a very prominent bust line as flush tends to accumulate in this area)
7. What is the shape of your waistline?
A. Elongated and Straight (but still narrow)
B. Elongated and Broad (slightly defined)
C. Moderate (fairly defined) smaller than your chest and hips but not too much
D. Clearly Defined and Angular
E. Defined, Round, and Wide
8. What is the shape of your hips?
A. Straight and Narrow (no definition)
B. Wide but still Straight (gains weight on the hips)
C. Moderate (in proportion to the bustline, hip dips)
D. Rounded and Defined (pronounced, larger to waist)
E. Very Rounded and Fleshy
9. How fleshy are your upper arms and thighs?
A. Long and Lean (no matter if you are slim or overweight your arms will still look very lean)
B. Long and Muscular
C. Moderate. (doesn’t feel lean or fleshy)
D. Some definition but they look soft (you can see definition in wrist and elbow)
E. Very fleshy and soft
Part 3: FACIAL FEATURES
***Make sure to have a mirror near you and someone who can help you by telling you how they perceive you.***

A. Straight and Close together (can be small)
B. Straight and Spaced (can be small)
C. Moderate size and evenly Spaced
D. Rounded or Upturned (slightly close together)

A. Straight and Thin
B. Straight and Broad (not full)
C. Moderate or Even (not straight or full)
D. Slightly full and Rounded (shape and round edges)
E. Very full and Very rounded (rounded edges)
RESULTS!
Mostly A: Dramatic
Your bone structure, body flesh, and facial features are long, lean, and sharp. Purely YANG.
If you got mostly A with few E or D: Soft Dramatic.
Your bone structure and most of your body flesh and facial features are sharp and Yang dominant, but have some Yin in your body flesh and/or face.
Mostly B: Natural
If you got mostly B’s, you are a pure Natural. Your body is elongated, broad, and blunt. This type is defined by a Soft Yang.
If you got mostly B’s but with some A: answers regarding bone structure, then you are a Flamboyant Natural.
This means your body flesh and facial features are probably broad and blunt (muscular); however, your bone structure is long and lean like a dramatic.
If you have mostly B’s but with some D or E answers body flesh and face, you are a Soft Natural.
This means your body flesh and facial features tend towards petite or lush yin, but your bones are bread, blunt and elongated.
Mostly C: Classic
If you got mostly C answers you are a pure Classic. Your bone structure, body flesh, and facial features are blended. This means that they are neither sharp nor rounded. Neither short nor long. You fall right in the middle of the Yin/Yang scale, and your body is balanced.
If you have a few A´s or B´s, you are a Dramatic Classic.
Your body flesh and facial features are C dominant, but you have some yang in your bone structure.
If you have some D´s and E´s, you are a
Soft Classic.
This means, you have some yin in your body flesh and facial features.
Mostly D: Pure Gamine.
This body type is a combination of yin and yang features. You have mostly D answers but you have the same amount if sharpness and softness. Your overall bone structure, body flesh, and facial features are not yin nor yang dominant.
If you have mostly D answers but with slightly more A, you are Flamboyant Gamine.
Your features are small and delicate, but overall you have more angularity to your body.
If you have more D answers, but with slightly more E, you are a Soft Gamine.
Your features are more on the yin side of the scale, overall you have more softness or roundness to your body.
Mostly E: Pure Romantic.
If you got mostly E answers you are a pure Romantic. Your bones, flesh, and facial features are all soft, small, and rounded like a lush yin.
If you have mostly D´s or E´s, with a few
A´s, you are a Theatrical Romantic.
This means that your bone structure, body flesh, and facial features aren’t as soft and rounded as a pure romantic. Yours are mostly soft but you have a few yang features in your bone structure and facial structure.

It could mean that you are a Pure Natural or Dramatic Classic, since the pure Naturals are the moderate of the naturals. DC because you have moderation (C’s) and sharpness (B’s).

After reading your answers I think you might want to consider Theatrical Romantic or Soft Natural or Soft Classic. Although, Theatrical Romantic looks more like it since you have more E’s.

7E, 6C and 1 D – which type does it belong to?
I’ve been doing these types of quizzes for a long time, and yours is fabulous, but it also may highlight my difficulty with quizzes in general. I’m hoping to establish this category(ies) before moving onto the next quiz. In case this helps. . . I’m 5’3″, 138lbs, pear shaped (34-29-41″), with monkey-long arms and legs, large hands, 8.5 (US) feet (skinny ankles, wide toes), very short waisted, people think I’m taller, bony calves, wrists, elbows, and fleshier upper arms/thighs. Low rise pants are not low on me; they are a miracle, as they don’t come to my ribs. Help!! I’m so confused. I took this two different days to see if I could figure it out and I still don’t seem to fit into the test model. Any help would be appreciated, we are in a terrible financial situation and I am trying to figure out how to change my style to fit my new body-type. You are missing a few letters on the second section (body flesh), which made it more difficult to read your kibbe, but I’m thinking those two options could be.
Altering your clothes to be more in your Kibbe lines is a great idea to save some money. Hope you find your kibbe 🙂

Hello wonderful people! So, I’m wondering what type I am. I don’t know what type I fall into
Also, another thing is that while I maintain an hourglass shape and my hips flare out from my wait (which is always substantially smaller than my giant boobs and bum lol), I have a hip dip :(. So, my waist flares out from my hips but the spot between where my hips intersect with my thighs there is a dip. This is present whenever I am at my skinniest as well.

Could be depending on it. TR has more delicate arms and legs that appear more lean if I look at salma hyek or something. The bones tend to be pointed but still delicate compared to romantics Bone structure who are delicate but mostly are rounded, can appear fleshy. Like the arms and legs, bust or hipline. Maybe see if someone else or the mod knows more

My face is definitely romantic and my essence is romantic, so I’m not sure if I’m confused with my body type especially as mesomorph who is soft and fleshy all over. Yes, I’m seeing you do have a lot of C’s and D’s. It’s hard to say just based on your answers but after reading them, you could either be Soft Gamine or Soft Classic. You might want to consider both options. You could think about if you feel more moderated or more delicate overall. Hope this helps, I know starting to understand Kibbe body type can be overwhelming at first but it makes a lot sense when you find your ID, you’ll see.

I would say I have quite a yang bone structure with an angular face shape (square-diamond; prominent jawline and nose. high cheekbones), broad shoulders, big feet for my height (size 8 women’s),
I would say wide ribcage too but when I suck in, my wideness comes from my flesh not bones. Speaking of fleshiness, I am very fleshy with full cheeks, average lips, big thighs that “spread” when I sit down, a full bust with 30G, small hands.
However, I do have hip dips. So my body shape goes from a full bust to a semi-defined waist to wide high hips then hip dips. When measuring my body is biggest on the shoulders, smallest at the waist and the same with bust and hips (the measurement usually comes from the butt because I definitely have no hips.)
I tend to collect weight on my mid area but a little bit everywhere as well. When I shed a few pounds, I do see a more defined waist. Face, arms and thighs lose weight the slowest.

Based on your answers and your description you might want to consider Soft Natural, or Soft Classic. You have a lot of C’s which would mean you are on the Classic family, but Naturals have contrasting features and more yang features. Thank you! Based on your results it looks like you could be Pure Gamine or Soft Gamine. You have a lot of D’s, and some E’s. We believe it is possible to be a Pure Gamine, even though kibbe doesn’t consider it anymore. If you don’t feel very pure gamine then you might want to consider Soft Gamine, since you do have E answers. You don’t have a lot of A’s and B’s, so you are most likely on the Yin side of Kibbe.

i need some help with mine pls! ^.^
i’m 5’2 and average 110 lbs although i am underweight and freshly able to afford more food so i should be gaining some weight especially at 22 (and being a late bloomer). I have high hips/hip dips, but one is straight and the other has a slight dip. I started spironolactone (my body naturally makes a lil too much testosterone) so when i gain weight it should go to my hips, butt, and boobs more than other places, but even more than it used to, which will make 5-8 more likely to be D’s instead of my current halfway between C and D.

You could be a Soft gamine since you have more yin answers (D and E), but I wouldn’t discard Soft Classic. Oh I can see why you might be confused. Seeing only your results I think you should consider Pure Dramatic or Soft dramatic. I see you put B on your vertical line, so it might mean that you look tall even if you are petite. We take into consideration your vertical line more than your height. That’s why I think you should consider those two options. If you feel more on the gamine family, you could consider Flamboyant Gamine as well.

Feeling a little confused about my results, would love some input! I’m 5’8, large breasts (wear a 30H bra), long legs, longish arms. Freakishly tiny hands and feet (feet are a size 6.5, my hands are smaller than everyone else I know, even friends who are 5’1 have bigger hands than I do). When I gain weight, it goes to my chest, and I tend to lose some waist definition as well. I have a very slight hourglass shape. I don’t have full lips, and have a pretty round face overall.

I can see why you’re confused, but I noticed that you are mostly Natural and Gamine. Which makes me think you could be either Soft Natural or Flamboyant Gamine. You could consider both options. They have some similarities but the FG body is smaller and delicate with sharp edges. And the SN is sharp and muscular with blunt edges and soft fleshier features, which makes them soft yang.

I’m so confused by the whole kibbe system, but I’m trying my best to understand and read/watch more and more information. I’m 5’7″ and feel that I am large, big boned, and curvy. My torso is shorter. I have really strong muscles under the fatty layer and my skin doesn’t feel “fleshy” but more “rough” I would say. I’ve been watching so many videos about kibbe, but I just can’t make sense where I belong.

The Kibbe system could be a bit confusing at first, but don’t worry, you will find yours and I promise it will help you understand your body type. I think you are most likely part of the natural family. Having in mind your answers and what you’re describing me, you might want to look into the Soft Natural lines. Soft naturals have a long height line, they look larger, have a blunt (or broad) and muscular structure. On the other hand they have softer edges, their flesh goes mostly on their hips and upper arms. They are strong but with something soft that’s why Kibbe says they are a soft YANG. I took this to see if I’m a Flamboyant Natural due to a Reddit thread poster sounding like me and my need for new clothes for a new job. However, I’m even more confused now. I’m 5’6″ with shorter legs and very long fingers and toes, have thick, muscular legs, and my thighs and upper arms are just-plain-thick regardless of my weight. My fat evenly distributes, but my “ladies” are always large and fleshy, and my butt is always flat and dimpled. I’m aware my face has a variety of “unmatching” features, such as a prominent jaw and high cheekbones with a tiny nose and mouth. My quiz results look like I’d be a soft classic, but the outline of my body vs the examples just doesn’t match. Help, pretty please?

I’m not sure what I am I’m probably Dramatic Classic but I have more As. I’m 5ft 7in weighing 47kg. My hips and chest are proportionate and my waist is slightly smaller. I‘m about 173cm (5.7foot) tall and weight about 53kg.
My hips are 89cm, waist is about 63cm and my bust 77cm, from the front I don’t have so much waist definition and I’m not curvy at all, so I thought I would get all As, also because I‘ve always been told I have long legs but comparing myself to the graphics I don’t think that’s accurate… although I do struggle to find jeans that are long enough but maybe thats just because I am rather tall& skinny:…?
Also how important are the shoulders for the result? I know that the „T-Line“ plays a role… My shoulders are broader than my hips (but only because the hips are quite narrow from the front) so maybe they are not more-than-average broad when compared to my hight?

I think you could be in the Natural or Classic Families. It sounds to me that you could be Dramatic or maybe a Dramatic classic. You have a lot of C answers, which makes me think that there must be a lot of moderation in you.
The shoulders are a big factor when considering the kibbe ID but it is not the decisive factor. yes, have in mind that some of your features might feel broader but when compared to your height and overall flesh, they might be more moderate.

I’ve got a small nose, but a jawline more reminiscent of Henry Cavill than a Pixie. My face is rectangular, or possibly oblong, but my nose is small. My arms stay lean when I gain weight, though my hips and thighs will gain, and when I build muscle, my arms are still are lithe and long, my legs less so. I am pretty sure soft gamine fits me best.

I’m 5’4, and 105 lbs, quite slim but not lanky. My posture makes it a little hard to define whether my shoulders are sloped or angular… My vertical line is quite long despite being a smaller and more delicate make. I don’t think I fit the description of either of these. I might have answered some questions incorrectly. I’m 5’4” and currently weight 220 lbs. I gain most of my weight around my belly and up, I have a really large bust, I also gain weight on my “upper back”, my waist is only two inches smaller than my hips, my bust is larger than my hips by 5 inches, my inseam is about 31 inches. I have a very chubby/puffy face, chubby cheeks, small eyes, wide nose flat nose bridge and plump lips.

Please help me! I’m 5’4” but everyone thinks I’m 5’-5’2” until they meet me in person and are surprised I’m taller and I look best in skater/A-line dresses or dresses that go in at the waist and aren’t past the knees with tights, empire waisted things, high waisted things, boot cut jeans, blouses that aren’t very tight but nothing billowy or that doesn’t come in somewhere under the chest and before the hips. My hips look narrower than my shoulders/chest but if measuring around both they’re exactly the same with my waist 3-4 inches smaller. I get a lot of Zooey Deschanel and Natalie Portman for look-alikes and similar body types, or a Disney animated Snow White in real life.

You can really notice the difference in your hips or your extremities. Usually, a Flamboyant Natural won’t accumulate weight in their legs and arms, so they will look lean, even when gaining weight and their hips are usually straight instead of round. However, a soft natural gains weight in their tights and hips. They can have an hourglass figure, but with broad shoulders and longer vertical line compared to romantics. Hope this helps!

Hello, I got 8 E’s, 5 D’s and 2 A’s. I know I could easily categorize myself as a Theatrical Romantic but all of the verified Theatrical Romantic celebrities got sharp and narrow shoulders. But all the sharpness that I have on my body are on my cheekbones and lips. For my shoulders, they are pretty rounded and wide. But I read and hear everywhere that Theatrical Romantic’s most well known feature is sharp and narrow shoulders. So I’m confused about that. Please illuminate me.
